Antegrad
Antegrad GmbH was founded in 2005 by Gerhard Becker. After studying computer science/business administration, he gained his first operational management and development experience in an internationally active company in the chemical industry. As the person responsible for supply chain management, he helped shape the company’s strong growth and was tasked in Germany and abroad with developing the Group’s sites and subsidiaries and improving the organization and processes.
In 1998, Gerhard Becker then moved into the healthcare sector. As Director of Operations and Chief Commercial Officer, and as a member of the Executive Board of the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), he played a key role in the development of the institution. In addition to increasing efficiency in administration and optimizing the “internal operations”, his key responsibilities included developing the master plan, securing its financing, and planning the near-complete new construction of the UKE.
After a brief assignment as Chief Commercial Officer on the Executive Board of the University Medical Center Düsseldorf, Gerhard Becker took on the difficult task of rescuing Mediclin AG, a healthcare company that had fallen into financial distress after its IPO, in the midst of the rehabilitation crisis.
After the successful restructuring of the Mediclin Group, Becker founded Antegrad GmbH. The aim and purpose of Antegrad GmbH is, in contrast to “traditional management consultancies”, to develop and implement practical concepts and solutions that work in the challenging environment of healthcare providers. In doing so, Antegrad allows itself to be measured on every assignment directly by the success of the measures and implementations.
Accordingly, Antegrad employs only staff with a very broad and deep professional background—no recent graduates, no interns—but managers who can speak on equal terms with the key decision-makers in the client organization.
